Specific Admission Requirements

Applicants should provide the required grade from LYS examination.

Qualification Requirements

Succeed in all the courses in the program (240 ECTS in total), the students are expected to get a grade point average of 2.00 out of 4.00.

Recognition of Prior Learning

The students who study at Mugla Sıtkı Koçman University may be exempt from some courses according to certain regulations. They may be exempt from the courses if the application is in time and the content is approved by the administrative board of the related vocational school/faculty/institute.

History

Information Systems Engineering was begin to education in 2013-2014 academic year under Faculty of Technology.

Profile of the Programme

The aim of Information Systems Engineering programme is to grow up Information Systems Engineers who can develop information systems by using information and communication systems, have required knowledge and ability to use information technologies in business, life and industrial requirements. In order to realize this aim, it is expected that given an education and training on topics of analyses, design and development of information systems.

Program Outcomes

1- Students; recognize and determine software and communication used in information systems, and use effective information technics.
2- Students analyzes effective factors of information industry (computer and information communication tools), knows factors which effect utility and design performance of ICT tools.
3- Students recognize visual, object-oriented, engineering and industrial software used in information systems; become aware of technological resources.
4- Students do have skills be carried out of business management and organization in which information systems take place applications.
5- Student has vocational and moral responsibility consciousness.
6- Students know principles of work security on field of information systems; follow up international quality, assurance and standarts; use those for development of technology.
7- Students follow up academic and vocational studies in field of ICT; take place in events of directing to development of vocational skills.
8- They can provide solutions in case of facing with unexpected situations in their field; take responsibity in teams; in addition to these, have ability of individual study.
9- They find specific and alternative solution ways which depend on innovation / experiment / monitoring / application / reasoning and encouragement.
10- They gather data related with information Technologies with modern computers and mobile systems.
11- They make feasibility studies regarding to project planning, project management and setting up firm(s).
12- They gather data by using basic knowledge and skills in the field.
13- They can determine suitable hardware and software solutions for industry and work life.
14- They get skills of continuous renovation themselves and following developments of science and technology.
15- They can follow up knowledge in their field by using a foreign language. They also communicate with colleagues (“European Language Portfolio Global Scale”, Level B1).

Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading

Passing grade is constituted with 40% of average of mid-term exams grade and 60% of final exam grade.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Information System Engineers can coordinate and plan all tasks carried out by computers;, purchase and set up necessary hardware and software; maintain and configure network structure; develop system architacture; integrate and operate different information and communication systems.

Access to Further Studies

According to succesful completion of bachelor's degree, students can continioue to their education in graduate and postgraduate degree in condition of providing requirements for these programs.
