Recreation Specialist

Specific Admission Requirements

The Department of recreation takes students with Special Skills exams organized every year. Candidates must take the transition to Higher Education exam (ygs). Since the students who will prefer the recreation department are students with special skills examination, they are required to have a good physical fitness level as well as an adequate athletic structure and skills that can carry out the applications of sports field courses.

Qualification Requirements

The total number of courses they have taken during their four-year education is 240.

Recognition of Prior Learning

With the student's own application, the courses at the University where the student was previously enrolled are evaluated in terms of course content and course hours by the adaptation commission formed by the Department.

History

Today, more than 50 recreation departments are serving in the body of the Faculties of Physical Education and sports schools and Sports Sciences in Turkey. The education curriculum of many recreation departments is based on the program of our department.

Profile of the Programme

Recreation education field, culture, art, physical exercise and sports activities in the field of social science and service as a field of mobility to adapt to the physical adequacy, communication skills strong, contemporary, technologically advanced features that follow the “recreation experts” to train.

Program Outcomes

1- Adopting life-long learning approach, to be leaded to develop knowledge and renew consistently by evaluating information and skills that they learn in Recreation area.
2- Interpret concepts and ideas that they learned in recreation field in the dimensions of national and international, analyze these concepts and ideas among disciplines.
3- Thinking innovative and creative, applying the information not only in similar situation but also in new and unusual conditions.
4- Analyze recreational phenomenon in terms of psychological, sociological and historical view.
5- Using advanced information sources about recreation.
6- Get information about recreation field by using a foreign language and communicate with colleagues.
7- Behave appropriate to law, procedure and legislation about task, right and responsibility of recreation.
8- Take responsibility in recreative activities doing with group.
9- Be an example to the community with appearance, attitude, manner and behavior.

Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading

Midterm exam(s): 40%, Final Exam (s): 60 %

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

With these developments, it has taken its place in recreation education and has started to be accepted as a social science and service area by taking into the cultural, art, physical exercise and sports activities. The general purpose of the Department of recreation education program is to train “recreation specialists” who have the ability to adapt to the mobility, have strong communication skills, have the ability to follow contemporary, technological developments.

Access to Further Studies

Academic personnel and postgraduate education (ALES) exam, provided that the students who have successfully completed the undergraduate education in the Recreational Department can receive the grades obtained from the science exam and graduate programs.

Mode of Study

To know the meaning and characteristics of the concepts of recreation, time and free time,- adaptation to daily life, quality of life, free time satisfaction and wellness level, skills to upgrade, understanding the relationship and benefits of recreation and other areas, work in accordance with the multidisciplinary structure of recreation, prepare recreation programs for free time, plan creative programs according to age groups, understand, Each age group serves as a leadership capable of protect the health and safety of the group that knows how to in recreation management knowledge, skills, and equipment having the active life principle that is related to recreation in the Department of scientific and technological developments in the world can follow, interpret results, and to be able to transfer into practice, the researcher feature, providing recreation professionals with a university or research units can collaborate to go further, who is to become the router in.
