Specific Admission Requirements

It is required to have a bachelor's degree from certain faculties and ALES or TUS degree and a proficiency of English as specified by the University Senate. The number of students to be admitted to graduate programs and the qualifications required for prospective students are announced before the beginning of each semester. This notice specifies the application conditions, deadline, the place and date of the science exam for the candidates to take.

Qualification Requirements

In order to graduate from the programme, the candidate should get a grade at least 2.00 (out of 4.00) from all the courses in the program (120 ECTS in total), should present 1 seminar, and present his/her thesis in front of the the jury succesfully.

By the desicion of the confirmity committee.

Profile of the Programme

During Histology and Embryology Master's program, histological examination techniques, the microscopic structures of the cells, tissues and systems of tne human body and the development of a human being from a single cell -zygote- until birth are learned.

Program Outcomes

1- Knows the histologic properties of the cell.
2- Knows the microscopic and the macroscopic properties of the four basic tissues in human organism
3- Recognizes the histology of the all organs forming the systems
4- Knows the phases of gametogenesis, ovulation and fertilization
5- Knows the first, second, third and fourth weeks of development and knows the embryonic and fetal developments
6- Knows the development of fetal membranes and placenta and multiple pregnancies
7- Knows the congenital anomalies
8- Knows histological techniques (light and electron microscopy, immunhistochemistry)
9- Knows how to direct a scientific investigation
10- Knows ethics of publication

Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading

In Histology and Embryology master's program the evaluations are done by midterm and final exams. The addition of the 40% of the midterm exam and 60% of the final exam give the grade of the student. If necessary, make-up exams are applied. All exams are evaluated over 100 points and converted to letter grades by the system. The student needs to receive at least CC grade inorder to be successful.
