Recreation Manager Specialist

Specific Admission Requirements

The Department of recreation takes students with master's examinations held every year. Candidates must take the ales exam.

Qualification Requirements

The total ECTS of the courses they have taken during their 2-year education is 60.

Recognition of Prior Learning

With the student's own application, the course content and course hours are evaluated by the adaptation commission formed by the main departments of which the student has previously studied.

History

Today, there are more than 20 recreation departments in Turkey.

Profile of the Programme

In the field of recreation education, to train “recreation expert scientists” who are able to adapt to mobility as a social science and service field by including culture, art, physical exercise and sports activities.

Program Outcomes

1- Adopting life-long learning approach, to be leaded to develop knowledge and renew consistently by evaluating information and skills that they learn in Recreation area.
2- Interpret concepts and ideas that they learned in recreation field in the dimensions of national and international, analyze these concepts and ideas among disciplines.
3- Thinking innovative and creative, applying the information not only in similar situation but also in new and unusual conditions.
4- Analyze recreational phenomenon in terms of psychological, sociological and historical view.
5- Using advanced information sources about recreation.
6- Get information about recreation field by using a foreign language and communicate with colleagues.
7- Behave appropriate to law, procedure and legislation about task, right and responsibility of recreation.
8- Take responsibility in recreative activities doing with group.
9- Be an example to the community with appearance, attitude, manner and behavior.

Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading

Midterm exam(s): 40%, Final Exam (s): 60 %

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

It has taken its place in the recreation department and has started to be accepted as a social science and service area by taking into account culture, art, physical exercise and sports activities. The general aim of the Department of recreation education program is to train scientists who manage “recreation specialists” who are capable of adapting to mobility, who have strong communication skills, who are able to follow contemporary and technological developments.

Access to Further Studies

Candidates who have successfully completed Master's degree can study in doctoral programs provided that they have passed the ales and YDS exam.

Mode of Study

Paying attention to ethical rules, Knows the meaning and characteristics of recreation, time and free time concepts, The basic function of recreation is adaptation to daily life, quality of life, free time satisfaction and the ability to raise the level of wellness, Understand the relationship and benefits of recreation and other areas, Able to work in accordance with the multidisciplinary structure of recreation, Prepare recreation programs for free time, Able to plan creative activity programs according to age groups, Understand the importance of recreation leadership and management, Leadership in all age groups, Knows the health and safety of the group he serves, Have knowledge, skills and equipment in recreation management, To be able to follow scientific and technological developments in the world in the field of recreation, interpret and apply the results, With its researcher feature, it is a guide to ensure that recreational professionals can work together with university or research units to go further.
